    About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Salsedo-Surovov is a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in legal technology and a former special education attorney. She brings a parent’s perspective to her work.

As a wife, mother, and daughter, she understands the challenges families face when illness reshapes daily life. She recovered from chronic fatigue syndrome, is supporting her two sons through their PANS/PANDAS journeys and became a determined advocate for children and families facing complex health and educational challenges. Her advocacy has included helping advance PANS/PANDAS legislation in Connecticut.

Elizabeth lives in Farmington, Connecticut, with her husband, two sons, and many beloved pets. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening at the family farm, and cooking. She is an avid reader and student and has certifications in Women’s Positive Psychology and Human Design.

Hope Lights the Way: A Family's Journey of Healing from PANS/PANDAS

A roadmap to living with PANS/PANDAS, from one family to another.

Elizabeth Salsedo-Survovov’s son was four when he went from being a totally normal, bright, beautiful little boy to presenting with symptoms that looked psychiatric: OCD, anxiety, school refusal, food aversion, mood swings, and a level of distress that did not make sense for the child she knew.

After a year of searching, the diagnosis of PANS/PANDAS came as a relief, but it was also the beginning of what the author describes as “hell on earth.”

This book is the memoir of living inside the maze of this chronic illness. It is the story of navigating medical systems, school systems, and social and community services while trying to keep a family alive, functioning, and hopeful. It chronicles the descent into fear, grief, confusion, and despair, but also the slow emergence on the other side: toward healing, toward meaning, toward advocacy, and toward helping others still fighting their way through.

You do not have to face this alone. May hope light your path.

    TO BE RELEASED NOVEMBER 2026.
